Australian Open Doubles Champion Nick Kyrgios is well-known for the unpredictability he brings to the court- be it his game style, his serve, his on-court banter, or his temper. And when Kyrgios loses his cool, it is a rather unpleasant sight. A similar incident happened in the fourth round of the Miami Open. Playing against Jannik Sinner, Kyrgios was having a tough time matching the young Italian and hence was often seen murmuring things to himself and to the crowd.
After a couple of warnings, Umpire Carlos Bernardes gave Kyrgios a point penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct in the tiebreaker courtesy of which, Kyrgios lost the set. The Aussie was completely fuming after the set was finished and rushed towards the chair umpire, only to yell at him violently.
As a result, he got a game penalty for yelling at the umpire and smashing a racket. He completely lost momentum and was knocked out by Sinner in straight sets 6-7(3),3-6. Despite all the odds stacked against him, Sinner somehow managed to keep his calm and come out the victor.
