On Thursday, November 16, tennis legend Serena Williams celebrated her fourth marriage anniversary with husband Alexis Ohanian. The couple had wed on the 16th of November, 2017. The power couple has an adorable daughter named Olympia.
Williams, 40, and Ohanian, 38, have never shied away from expressing their love for each other. To mark the fourth year of their marriage, both had shared pictures with loving messages on their respective Instagram account. Later, Alexis Ohanian also put up a previously unseen video.
Never done anything as nerve-wracking – Alexis Ohanian on Instagram
The Reddit founder took to the social media platform to share a never-before-seen video from his wedding to Serena. It was a video of their first dance as a couple, a tradition common in Christian weddings.
Addressing his followers, Ohanian wrote “Hey IG squad, here’s some never-before-seen footage from our wedding 4 years ago. I’ve given keynotes to audiences of 10,000s but nothing I’ve ever done was as nerve-wracking as the First Dance. @serenawilliams gave birth (with major complications, nearly dying) only 2 months earlier, so I had no excuse but to deliver.”
Alexis Ohanian: “Our family keeps me feeling grateful”
Before sharing the clip from their first dance, Alexis Ohanian had shared anniversary wishes for his wife on Instagram and Twitter. He wrote “4 years ago you made me the happiest man in the world and our little family keeps me feeling more grateful every day. Nov 16 will always be a very special day for our family ♥️. Happy anniversary. Thank you for bringing this joy named Olympia into our life even though you always fall asleep in the middle of our movie nights”.
The couple had met by chance in Rome in 2015, where Serena was playing the Italian Open. After dating for over a year, Ohanian proposed in December 2016. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr in September 2017. Two months after that, they tied the knot in front of family and friends.
