Emma Raducanu came into the limelight after her surprising run at the 2021 Wimbledon where she reached the 4th round while being ranked outside the Top-300 and in the process became the youngest British woman to reach the 4th round of the Slam. It required a medical difficulty to rule her out from the 4th round match or she could have gone further as well.

Having broken into the Top-200, the teenager reached New York for the 2021 US Open ranked 150th in the world and went on to write one of the biggest underdog stories in the sport when she won the Grand Slam becoming the first qualifier in the Open Era to win a major. The win saw her ranking jump 127 places and made her the highest-ranked British woman as she was into the Top-25 of WTA rankings.
