Bianca Andreescu became a teenage sensation in 2019 when she won her first Grand Slam title by defeating the greatest name in women’s tennis- Serena Williams. She became the first Canadian player to win a Grand Slam and also the first teenager to do it since Maria Sharapova in 2006.

Bianca Andreescu has a career-high ranking of WTA world no.4 which she achieved on 21 October 2019. She is currently 21-years-old. In 2021, She reached her third WTA 1000 final but couldn’t shine much throughout the year otherwise. She also tested positive for covid and had to withdraw from training for some time. All-in-all it was apparent that she was not in form this year.

As 2022 is approaching near, people have started expecting more from Bianca Andreescu in the following season since she has been posting pictures and videos of her training with her new coach Sven Groeneveld and saying how well it has been working for her.

Andreescu was born on June 16, 2000, in Mississauga, Canada to parents Nicu Andreescu (Father) and Maria Andreescu (Mother). The Andreescu Family is of Romanian origin but they shifted to Canada in 1994 when Bianca’s father Nicu shifted to a job in Canada where he works as a mechanical engineer.

Andreescu’s mother works as the chief financial officer at a financial services company. Andreescu has been playing tennis since she was 7 years old. She started training at the Ontario Racquet Club when she turned 12 and became serious about tennis.

Andreescu has 3 WTA titles to her name including a Grand Slam at the 2019 US Open. She has a very good arsenal of shots and her shot selection is really has always been praised. Andreescu has a dog named coco who frequently appears on her Instagram and also has a profile of its own. It is a crucial time for Andreescu since a lot is on the line for her in the 2022 season and a lot of eyes are on her and expect her to perform well.
