Danielle Collins is an American tennis player and has won 2 WTA titles and 4 ITF titles. Her career-high ranking is No.23 which she achieved back on 28th January 2019.

Collins mostly played collegiate tennis in the early stages of her career. She made her WTA main draw debut at the 2014 US Open, but it wasn’t until 2016, that the American turned fully professional.

In 2018, Collins played in the main draw of all the Grand Slams except the Australian Open and also managed a semi-final finish at the Miami Open. The subsequent year, Collins reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open, en route to which she notched up a surprising win over second seed Angelique Kerber in the fourth round. It was her debut in the main draw at the Melbourne major. Her good run at Grand Slams continued with a quarter-final finish at the French Open in 2020.

In 2021, the American won two WTA titles and finished the year ranked No. 29, which was her best year-end ranking to date. She began her 2022 season at the Australian Open against fellow American Caroline Dolehide, which she won in straight sets. She continued her winning run and managed to reach the quarter-finals after defeating 19th seed Elise Mertens in the fourth round. Collins then went on to defeat Alize Cornet in straight sets to book her place in the semi-final.

Danielle Collins was born on December 13, 1993, to Walter and Cathy Collins, in St. Petersburg, Florida. She played tennis at the collegiate level for the University of Virginia and won the NCAA singles titles in 2014 and 2016. For her achievements, she was given the Honda Sports Award, which is given to the best collegiate female athlete.

Danielle is quite reserved about her private life and not much is known regarding her parents, other than the fact that her father, Walter Collins was the person who introduced her to tennis in the first place. He was also her coach until she started playing tennis professionally.
