Slowly and steadily, Alexander Zverev is making it a habit to win big and beat top players. He has been one of the most consistent players on tour this season. He made it to the semifinals of three grand slams this season and won two masters titles- Madrid and Cincinnati. He is also tied with Djokovic and Ruud for the most titles this year and now has a chance to take the lead by winning the ATP Finals.

This week in Turin, he defeated Matteo Berrettini in the opener before losing to Daniil Medvedev in a three set thriller. He then blasted past Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets to book a semifinal berth. In the last 4, he defeated World No.1 Novak Djokovic for the second time this season in three sets 7-6(4),4-6,6-3.

Daniil Medvedev is the only player this week who is undefeated. The Russian had a tough group stage outing but managed to beat all three opponents. He defeated the likes of Hubert Hurkacz, Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner- all in tight three set matches to book a semifinal spot. He then cruised past Casper Ruud in the semifinal in straight sets 6-4,6-2 to enter the final second year running.

Medvedev, like Zverev has been very consistent this season and was the best player on hard courts. He finished runner up at the Australian Open and won his maiden grand slam at Flushing Meadows. Apart from that, he also won the Toronto Masters and a couple of ATP 250 events.
