The Los Angeles Rams were among the favorites to win Super Bowl LXI in their own backyard, SoFi Stadium. After trading for the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett, the Rams are the betting favorites to secure a second Lombardi Trophy in six years.

Terron Armstead, meanwhile, dropped another prediction that has the internet buzzing. The former All-Pro offensive tackle claimed that with Garrett, the Rams now have all the pieces required to go undefeated in 2026. And he’s not talking about a clean regular-season record. Armstead sees the Rams win every playoff game, including the Super Bowl, challenging the 1972 Miami Dolphins, who went 17-0.

The Rams just got the piece that makes them go undefeated. Health is the only concern. The durability of these guys. But if this roster’s healthy, I see no reason why they don’t go undefeated, challenge the 1972 Miami Dolphins being the only team to do so and get the championship.

Earlier in the week, the Rams traded for Garrett. In exchange, the Cleveland Browns received two-time Pro Bowl edge Jared Verse, a first, second, and third-round pick.

The Rams extended reigning league MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford’s contract by one year. They also traded for two-time Super Bowl-winning corner Trent McDuffie and signed his former Chiefs teammate Jaylen Watson on a three-year deal.

Garrett signed a blockbuster four-year, $160 million extension with the Browns ahead of the 2025 season. The deal included a no-trade clause. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Garrett didn’t request a trade. After the Browns and the team reached common ground following a review of the compensation, the seven-time Pro Bowler agreed to join the NFC West franchise.

The Rams unveiled Garrett earlier this week. A couple of days later, the franchise reworked his previous agreement to guarantee him a raise, pushing his 2026 compensation package to $37 million. His total value remains approximately $204 million over five years, averaging roughly $40 million annually. In 2026, he will earn a $35.7 million signing bonus and a guaranteed base salary of at least $1.3 million.

Garrett’s final year in Cleveland was historic. Besides equalling his total tackle tally (60), Garrett set the single sack record (23), overtaking former Giants edge Michael Strahan. He further registered 33 tackles for loss, defended one pass, and forced three fumbles.

What number will Myles Garrett wear for the Rams?

Garrett revealed that he will be wearing number 95 for the Rams. It’s a number that was previously owned by veteran nose tackle Poona Ford. It means Ford has to find a new number to wear. During his first press conference as a Rams player, Garrett joked about how much he paid Ford to wear 95.

Maybe more than a couple [bucks]. He was open to it and I understood there have been some other number trades before me. I based my decision off of that. He understood and I’m glad to be sticking with the No. 95.
