Mumbai Indians batsman Suryakumar Yadav spoke on his controversial moment with Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli. This incident took place in the latter half of Indian Premier League 2020 during a game between their respective sides.

Calling the banter ‘instinctive’ from both ends, Yadav said that he’s been looking up to Virat for a long time. Suryakumar loves how Virat Kohli dominates the game with his energy on the field.

“The banter was very instinctive from both ends because I have been looking up to him since he has been dominating world cricket for a long time. His energy, his domination, everything has been spot on in whatever format he plays for whatever team,” Suryakumar Yadav was quoted as saying to Sports Tak.

“I was really happy, and I was excited as well that there’s a lot of responsibility on my shoulder currently. It will be great if I take the team ahead and win it for Mumbai and take them to the top,” he added.

No place for Suryakumar Yadav in Australia Tour

Suryakumar Yadav had a brilliant IPL 2020 edition with the bat after scoring 480 runs in 16 matches. Moreover, he has been scoring runs consistently in previous IPL seasons as well as in the domestic circuit. But he was unfortunate after failing to feature in India’s limited-overs squads for the tour of Australia. Nevertheless, his IPL franchise Mumbai Indians won their fifth title in eight years, beating Delhi Capitals in the finals.

“It was fun out there, I was under pressure, but I wanted to deliver badly in that game. I knew a big game was coming for Mumbai Indians because we thought if we would’ve won that game, we would have gone on top of the table. I badly wanted to get runs in that game, and I was glad to contribute at that moment,” Yadav concluded.
