‘The “Korean Zombie” is a convenient opponent for Zabit’ says Zabit Magomedsharipov’s coach

Chan Sung Jung ‘The Korean Zombie’ was considered one of the strongest contenders for the UFC Featherweight champion until Brain Ortega made his comeback inside the Octagon and defeated ‘Korean Zombie’. Ortega won the fight by the unanimous decision of the judges at the end of 5 rounds and now Chan Sung Jung is looking for his next opponent.
‘The Wizard’ Ryan Hall gave a callout to ‘Korean Zombie’ to face him next but the Zombie isn’t interested in fighting with him. Chan Sung Jung gave a call out to the undefeated Russian UFC fighter Zabit Magomedsharipov who is on a perfect streak of 6-0 in UFC. Zabit announced that he isn’t less than anyone by defeating Calvin Kattar in his latest fight.
But Zabit’s coach says he isn’t interested in fighting Korean Zombie. In the latest interview with Ushatayka: Sport Expres, Zabit’s coach Mansur Uchakayev says, “The” Korean Zombie” is a convenient opponent for Zabit. If you fight him, then 90 percent that the belt will not be given because they offer a three-round fight.”
“If Zabit has a three-round fight, then he will not be a challenger. Then, most likely, Brain Ortega will get a chance to fight for the belt. So we decided to wait. We’ll come home and think about it. There is still a lot of time until March. We have restored the training camp, we are already training.”
Zabit Magomedsharipov is the emerging contender
Zabit Magomedsharipov is no doubt one of the upcoming contenders for the UFC title. He is currently ranked number 3 in the Featherweight division. The number one featherweight fighter Max Holloway is already booked to face Calvin Kattar in January and UFC isn’t thinking to plan a rematch between him and Alexander Volkanovski.
With a win over Chan Sung Jung, Brain Ortega is in the strongest position to face Volkanovski next but after him, Zabit Magomedsharipov is in the line for a title fight and he doesn’t want anyone to come between his title shot.
