After weeks of unbridled speculation, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has finally confirmed that he’ll return home to WWE on Monday for the Netflix premiere of Raw. He made the groundbreaking announcement through a post on Instagram where he also talked about returning to his homeland of Samoa.

A couple of decades ago, his Highness High Chief Maleatoa Tunamafili II invited The Rock and his family for a special ceremony. The then-Head of State of Samoa bestowed upon Rock the title of ‘High Chief Seiuli.’ After that, the 52-year-old actor gave the Samoan paramount chief his word about leaving his boyish ways behind.

By doing so, The Great One pledged to represent his Samoan, Polynesian, and Black culture around the globe. Having done so over the course of the last 20 years, Rock is excited to go back to Samoa once again. He’s having chills at the mere thought of it, added the Black Adam star. But until that happens, he’ll go visit his WWE family in the meantime.

Tomorrow night, at the first-ever Raw on Netflix, The Final Boss will make his presence felt. He has dedicated the upcoming WWE appearance to his grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia; grandmother, Lia Maivia; and father, Rocky “Soulman” Johnson, let alone the ancestors who paved the way for him.

Before stopping by the Intuit Dome for Raw, Dwayne Johnson will be at the Golden Globes 2025. He’s set to be a presenter at the annual awards show that’ll emanate from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas. Rock’s Moana 2 has been shortlisted for the best animated film. Once capping off this commitment, The Brahma Bull will gear up to lay the smackdown on his WWE peers.

The Rock’s WrestleMania 41 situation is still up in the air

Now that The Rock has himself proclaimed his arrival on Raw’s Netflix debut, it’s likely to clear up the air around his WrestleMania status too. One way or the other, the fans would probably know by the end of Raw this Monday whether he’s Mania-bound or not.

For months, he was considered a lock to take on Cody Rhodes at The Show of Shows in Las Vegas. However, recent reports didn’t lean in that direction. Several had noted that Rock’s not factored into WrestleMania plans. It might stay that way if his appearance on Raw ends up being a one-off deal.

But the fans would hope otherwise. Some are even predicting that The People’s Champ is coming back to oversee the Tribal Combat between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. The possibilities are endless at this point.
