The Rock had an incredible WrestleMania XL weekend and feud with Cody Rhodes. After his short run, the Brahma Bull has once again taken a hiatus from the WWE. However, he made it clear that his professional wrestling career was not over and promised that he would return. The Hollywood Superstar’s future WWE plans remain ambiguous.

However, fans may have finally gotten an insight into who the People’s Champion will be facing next year at WrestleMania. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Rock will be returning for another WrestleMania match next year. Furthermore, there is also a chance of the People’s Champion having another match this year. However, his match later this year likely won’t be against the American Nightmare.

According to Dave Meltzer, that match is instead booked for the main event of WrestleMania 41. The Great One recently heaped praise on the participants of the Night 2 WrestleMania main event. Additionally, he has his sights set on the main event of next year’s Showcase of Immortals.

If the rumors for Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 41 do turn out to be true, this would mean that fans will probably have to wait at least another year for the much-anticipated ‘dream’ match against Roman Reigns. It will also be interesting to see what role the Black Adam star plays in Solo Sikoa’s new Bloodline with Tama Tonga.

Cody Rhodes was a part of last week’s WWE UK tour. The American Nightmare recently defended his WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura in front of the largest Birmingham crowd for WWE.

Rhodes also made an appearance on Good Morning Britain. During the show, he was asked about the possibility of such a match-up between him and the Brahma Bull. The Undisputed WWE Champion said that if he becomes a great champion like Roman Reigns was, it might be enough to attract the attention of The Final Boss.

The Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock rivalry has gotten highly personal since the 51-year-old’s return in February. The two have insulted each other’s families, and The Great One even made Rhodes bleed. The Raw after WrestleMania further added fuel to the fire. 

The Final Boss asked his adversary whether he could hold the WWE Championship. He also gave the champion a parting gift and threatened Rhodes to never break his heart again. Since then, The American Nightmare has mentioned the Hollywood Superstar multiple times in his promos, teasing a future showdown with Flex Kavana.
