On Sunday, LIV Golf concluded its 6th event of the 2025 season in Mexico. Chilean golfer Joaquin Niemann claimed his third win of the season by winning the LIV Golf Mexico City. Following the event, Tiger Woods‘ former coach dropped a 3-word reaction to describe the 54-hole circuit.

Since their establishment in 2021, LIV Golf has received huge backlash from fans and several players. Their unique 54-hole events along with team format, no cuts and shotgun start have stirred several debates with many expressing their displeasure towards them.

Despite the animosity, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) backed tour continues to roll on. Now in its 4th season, the league features a total of 58 players with 54 taking part in each tournaments.

In a discussion on X, an account, MyGolfSpy asked users to drop a 3-word reaction to describe the Saudi-backed tour. While some once again slammed the league, Tiger Woods’ ex-coach Hank Haney seemingly likes the concept of LIV Golf and dropped a positive reaction towards them.

Great, different, hated.

The player Haney was talking about is Bryson DeChambeau. The Crushers GC captain has gained a huge fan following on social media through his content creation on YouTube. His interaction with others have made him a fan-favorite on the golf course.

Haney seems to be one of them. In a tweet on X, he expressed his affection to watch the 2-time major champion play golf while sharing a screenshot of him hitting a ball with a pitching wedge.

This tweet from Haney comes just a few days after DeChambeau suffered a major setback in the final round of the Masters Tournament. He entered the final round on Sunday, just 2 shots behind Rory McIlroy, and was looking to break the Northern Irishman’s heart again just like he did at the U.S. Open in 2024.

After two consecutive bogeys on the 3rd and 4th holes, DeChambeau went 1-over par for the day. He was unable to recover from this, as he finished the day 3-over par and with a score of 7-under, 4 shots behind winner McIlroy at T5.

Rahm, the former World No.1, expressed that a reunification of golfers is a “tricky situation” at the moment. He further mentioned that he and his league mates have no idea about what is happening currently, but added that there is a chance to create something special.

It’s a tricky situationNow, none of us sitting up here are in charge and we don’t know what that looks like because we’re not lawyers and there’s a lot of things going on, but I do believe there’s an opportunity, and I’ve said this many times, to create something special.

Jon Rahm told the reporters in the LIV Golf Mexico City press conference

This year, PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, along with player-directors Adam Scott and Tiger Woods, reached out to US President Donald Trump for his help in getting this deal done. Since then, there have been some talks between the two parties at the White House. However, it is still hard to say when this merger deal will actually get done.
