On Monday, Tiger Woods was once again cheering on from the sidelines as the Jupiter Links GC took on the Atlanta Drive Golf Club in the TGL. Following the game, Tiger Woods was asked about his health and a timeline regarding his potential return. The golfer proceeded to give a grim update.
Woods has been out of action since he ruptured his Achilles tendon last year in March. While his last competitive start came in July at the Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club, he did play in the PNC Championship later in December alongside his son, Charlie Woods.
The 15-time major champion was supposed to make his first start of the 2025 season at the Genesis Invitational. However, after the passing of his mother, Kultida Woods, he withdrew from the event.
During his preparation for the Masters, he would rupture his Achilles tendon and undergo surgery. Later in October, Woods would undergo another back surgery. This was the third time in 13 months that the golfer had gone under the knife.
With Tom Kim unavailable and him being in no shape to play, the Jupiter Links GC would sign 2-time PGA Tour winner Akshay Bhatia. On Monday, he, along with Max Homa and Kevin Kisner, took part in their TGL showdown against Atlanta Drive.
The Tiger Woods-led side ended up winning 8-2 and clinched their first win of the season. The 8 points were the highest they had ever managed in their short franchise history.
After the event, reporters would ask Woods about when they would see him playing out here while claiming that he seemed good moving around. The 15-time major champion would cast doubt on his future and admit that he has no idea when he will be clear to return.
Playing here? I don’t know. I like watching these guys. As far as competitive golf, it’s still some time.

In recent times, there have been several talks about him playing on the PGA Tour Champions. After turning 50 in December, Woods is eligible to play on the senior tour. However, he has not committed to that part just yet.
Tiger Woods commented on the possibility of Brooks Koepka playing in the TGL
Brooks Koepka has been one name that has dominated the headlines in recent weeks. The 5-time major champion’s return to the PGA Tour stunned several people. On Monday, Tiger Woods commented on the possibility of seeing him playing in the TGL.

Last year, Koepka made a shocking appearance at SoFi Center, home of the TGL. He, along with his wife, Jena Sims, was seen chatting with PGA Tour stars ahead of the matchup between The Bay Golf Club and the Jupiter Links GC.
Following his exit from LIV Golf, TGL co-founder and World No.2 Rory McIlroy claimed that he would love to see Koepka on the tech-fused league.
Woods, who was absent from the TGL when Koepka made an appearance last year, expressed that next year the league will have two more teams. The former World No.1 could be part of one of them in the future.
I don’t know that part yet. Brooks just got his feet wet being back on our TOUR again at Torrey, and he’s playing Waste Management this week. We’ve got one new team next year, and should have two. I don’t know when it’s going to be sewn up or not. But who knows.
Tiger Woods told the reporters

Last week, Koepka made his first regular PGA Tour start since 2022. With scores of 73, 68, 73, and 70, the Florida native finished T56 at 4-under par at the Farmers Insurance Open.
He will now turn his attention to the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona this week. He has won this event two times in his career.
