Since becoming one of the most recognizable celebrity supporters of the New York Knicks during their 2026 playoff run, Timothée Chalamet has once again captured fans’ attention, this time with a humorous take on the emotional and physical demands of postseason basketball.

The actor shared an Instagram Story on June 4 showing himself stretched out on a couch with plastic bags of ice resting on both knees while wearing a Knicks playoff T-shirt. Chalamet paired the image with a tongue-in-cheek message about the toll that supporting his favorite team has taken during their deep playoff run.

He wrote, “Ppl underestimate the wear and tear on the body of a fan throughout the playoffs. Self care is important.”

The post quickly made the rounds on social media, with fans sharing screenshots and praising the actor’s relatable sense of humor as excitement surrounding the Knicks’ NBA Finals appearance continued to build.

A lifelong Knicks fan and New York native, Chalamet has been a regular presence at games throughout the postseason and has become one of the franchise’s most visible celebrity backers. He has attended several pivotal matchups during the team’s run to the Finals, often drawing attention from fans and broadcasters alike.

According to reports, Chalamet was also among those celebrating after the Knicks secured their first NBA Finals berth in 27 years by defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals. Footage from the celebration showed the actor mingling with players on the court, including Mikal Bridges, as the historic achievement sparked celebrations throughout New York.

The actor’s latest social media post arrived one day after the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 105-95 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. For the unversed, New York entered the championship series seeking its first NBA title since 1973 and its first Finals appearance since 1999.

Following a tense finish, the Knicks held off a late Spurs comeback to secure a 105-104 victory. Chalamet celebrated the win from courtside as New York improved to 2-0 in the series. The victory gave the Knicks a commanding advantage before the NBA Finals shift to Madison Square Garden. The next game will mark New York’s first NBA Finals home game since 1999.
