The Undertaker (aka Mark William Callaway) will go down as one of the most intimidating characters in the history of professional wrestling. Many believe that there won’t be any substitute for his untanned legacy. For over three decades, the Deadman entertained his fans across the globe. His bone-chilling entrances were as iconic as anything could ever get.
Whenever that gong used to hit, everybody knew, it was game over for his opponents. Although the Phenom shared ring with almost every superstar of different eras, there are still some standouts in them. We can easily recall some of the greatest in-ring matches of Taker, which included top-notch work rate and unmatched storytelling. Below is the list of the Top 5 clashes of which The Undertaker has been a part of.

#5 The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton (Wrestlemania 21)
The Legend Killer Randy Orton established himself as a young arrogant heel on the WWE roster, shortly after his debut. He took out numerous Hall of Famers within a span of few weeks. Everything was going bingo for Orton and his father until they collided with The Undertaker.
The two had a classic at Wrestlemania 23. The contest was evenly poised for the most part and young Orton got a great showing against the Phenom. At one point, Randy Orton reversed a Chokeslam pursuit of Taker into a devastating RKO, and it was exactly where the WWE Universe thought that the streak would end. However, the Deadman got his shoulder up at the last possible second and eventually went on to grab the victory.
#4 The Undertaker vs. Triple H (Wrestlemania 28)
Although these icons fought at two consecutive Wrestlemania events, the latter prevailed overall. At Wrestlemania 28, the Cerebral Assassin found himself in a sadistic Hell in a Cell match against Taker. To add to the occasion, Shawn Michaels was the special guest referee. The wounds of his heartbreaking defeat were not forgotten at that point, and Undertaker’s presence was enough to stunk Michaels.
Anyways, Hunter was forged through a hellacious setting in a match that got dubbed as the “End of an Era”. Despite several mischievous activities executed by both DX allies, they were not able to put down the Deadman. Even a Sledgehammer shot to the face followed up by a Pedigree wasn’t enough. The ending moments saw The Undertaker putting Triple H to rest, courtesy of the Tombstone Piledriver.
#3 The Undertaker vs. CM Punk (Wrestlemania 29)
CM Punk was probably the hottest thing in professional wrestling from 2009 until his WWE departure. He was fortunate enough to face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania, back in 2013. Basically, the story revolved around Punk downsizing the legacy of Taker and stealing his iconic urn.
At the marquee event, the two put on a clinic. In a match that went around 22 minutes, there were various close pinfall attempts, from each side. Maybe, CM Punk would’ve ended the Phenom’s humongous Wrestlemania undefeated streak, had he not mocked the WWE legend. This would infuriate Taker and he crushed Punk’s dream of being registered in the history books.
#2 The Undertaker vs. Edge (Wrestlemania 24)
Back in 2008, the Rated-R Superstar Edge defended his World Heavyweight Championship against The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Going per the record books, the Phenom was on a roll and undefeated at Wrestlemania events. This was enough to pass on the curse to Edge’s world title reign.
In a well-worked match, we got ourselves a new champion. The ending moments saw the challenger lock the champ in Hell’s gate submission maneuver. Despite pulling all of his tricks, the Deadman squeezed out the breathe off Edge’s chest and made him tap out.
#1 The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels (Wrestlemania 26)
Like Triple H, the Phenom double-clashed against The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels as well at Wrestlemania. Back in 2011, these men were a part of an absolute slobber knocker of a match. The story was down right legendary as Michaels was asked to put his career on the line, this time around. He had already lost to The Undertaker at Wrestlemania, the previous year.

Expecting a different outcome for himself, Shawn Michaels accepted the stipulation and agreed to the match. In what can be termed as one of the best, if not the best match of this industry, Taker ended Michaels’ WWE career. After the match, both men got emotional and hugged each other with teary eyes.
