The first half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is completed with every team playing at least 8 matches in the tournament. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are leading the race for the qualifications of in the playoffs.  Both teams are going next to neck for first place with. Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals are at the bottom places of the table.

Sixes and fours have been pouring in the tournament with batsmen scoring runs in a very short time. Sharjah particularly has been the famous stadium for scoring runs in the tournament.  KL Rahul the KXIP skipper is the orange cap holder after scoring 448 runs in his 8 games of the tournament so far. However, various other batsmen even though not scoring as many runs as KL Rahul but have outperformed him in terms of balls per boundary ratio.

Here we take a look at the top 5 batsmen with the best ball per boundary ratio so far in IPL 2020 (minimum 100 balls faced).

5. Mayank Agarwal – 4.41 balls per Boundary

Mayank Agarwal is currently second in the charts for the leading runscorer in IPL 2020 just behind KL Rahul. Agarwal also brought his first century in IPL career after scoring 106 runs off just 50 balls.

 Agarwal has smashed 38 fours and 15 sixes in 227 balls faced in the tournament.  With 4.41 balls per boundary ratio, Agarwal has outperformed his KXIP skipper KL Rahul on the list.  

4. Marcus Stoinis – 4.40 balls per Boundary

Stoinis for Delhi Capitals has played quite a few vital innings in the tournament so far. He usually bats down the order which is packed with star players in the form of Dhawan, Iyer, and Rishabh Pant at the top.

His ability to play quickfire knocks has been an asset for the DC. He has also improved the death overs finishing for the side. He has smashed 18 fours and 9 sixes in 119 balls faced with a ratio of 4.40 balls per boundary.

3. Suryakumar Yadav – 4.21 balls per Boundary

Suryakumar Yadav bats at number three for Mumbai Indians. He has played some flawless innings for MI while failed to deliver in some of them. He has relatively hit more fours than sixes as compared to other batsmen.

He has 34 fours and 4 sixes in 160 balls faced, with 4.21 balls per boundary ratio.

2. Nicholas Pooran – 4.05 balls per Boundary

Nicholas Pooran has the fastest fifty of IPL 2020 with a 17 balls half-century against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Pooran comes to bat after Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul but with his wide range of shots scores quick runs.

Pooran has 17 fours and 13 sixes in just 121 balls faced in the tournament. This makes him second on the list with 4.05 balls per boundary ratio.

AB de Villiers is the batsman with the best ball per boundary ratio in IPL 2020 so far with 3.75.

ABD has turned matches in favor of RCB single-handedly. Whenever RCB was in trouble ABD turned up for the team and has also led them to victory in a few of the games.

De Villiers so far has smashed 19 sixes in the tournament which is the joint-highest along with Sanju Samson. He also has 21 boundaries to his name in 150 balls faced in the tournament.
