Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou praised Manchester United counterpart Erik ten Hag, ahead of the EPL match between the two sides at Old Trafford, this weekend. Postecoglou defended Ten Hag, despite, United’s poor set of results in the EPL and Europe.

Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag has been under fire after the club’s sloppy mid-week performance in the UEL. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Dutch side FC Twente, owing to a disappointing defensive display. United have won just three out of their opening eight matches this season, which include a disastrous 3-0 loss to Liverpool, mounting pressure on Ten Hag. Ange Postecoglou’s side have also not been at their best either, but have recently bounced back with three back-to-back wins recently.

Ahead of the much-awaited clash between the two sides, Postecoglou praised Ten Hag for his work at the club, despite facing immense pressure. He also commended the former Ajax manager’s two trophies earned at the club. Moreover, he agreed that the United managerial job was an ‘impossible one’, with managers being praised only if they win a competition or a trophy at the end of a season. Postecoglou also highlighted that Ten Hag was focused on building a squad for the future.
