23XI Racing has been the team to beat at Kansas Motor Speedway in the Next-Gen era and Michael Jordan’s team proved their advantage is still there on Sunday. Tyler Reddick produced an impressive overtime restart run to win his fifth race of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season.
The victory helped him to match the five wins from first nine races of the season record set by seven times champion Dale Earnhardt Sr. in 1987. Talking about this post-race, the veteran admitted that he is beyond excited about the record and credited his 23XI crew for the success.
Yeah, that’s a guy on the Mount Rushmore of NASCAR drivers. To be able to accomplish things that someone like him did is truly incredible but none of it’s possible without the good men and women at 23XI — the ones that travel, the one back at Airspeed.
Tyler Reddick said after winning the AdventHealth 400.
Later talking about how much he and his team has improved from last season, which he ended winless, Tyler Reddick asserted that it’s unreal how good they are right now. He highlighted how the accomplishments are the product of the significant improvement that was made to their Toyota’s.
It’s really unreal. It’s definitely going to seem like night and day. Our cars are, you would think, night and day, just night and day that our cars are so much better. I mean, I think we have done a good job of improving our cars at the places we’re already strong, making them better at the places we’re weak.

Tyler Reddick discusses his shot at winning 2026 championship
In the same media session, the two times second division champion shared his hopes about winning his maiden premier division title in 2026. The early sims show the No:45 team has an advantage, but Reddick isn’t convinced as he knows the likes of Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson will be hot on his tails soon.

Yeah, I mean, it’s early. I mean, we saw today the 11 is strong. I know the 20 is strong, as well. The 5, he finds ways to get more speed out of his cars when it seems like handling is lacking a bit. There’s a lot of really good teams, a lot of good pit crews, a lot of good minds in this garage.
Tyler Reddick said.
Further talking about the point, he asserted that he is expecting the elite drivers that are struggling at the moment to start winning races before the playoffs, making the championship fight tough. They have the advantage at the moment, but how long it will last is the big question.
Certainly, over these next 17 races, the ones that are missing it a little bit here and there are going to start hitting it. I think the competition will certainly continue to tighten up as we get through this year. We’ve done a really good job of making the most of our days and scoring a lot of points.
Tyler Reddick added.
The comments from the 2024 Cup regular season champion are on point and shows how he championship conversation wont end anytime soon. Two or three bad races are enough for the No:45 team to lost the championship lead, and that shows how tough the new format it.
