Chelsea defeated Krasnodar 4-0 in the UEFA Champions League. The match was played in front of fans for the first time since the Covid 19 pandemic.

Callum Hudson Odoi opened the scoring for Chelsea with Werner, Ziyech and Pulisic adding in the second half.

First Half

Eduoard Mendy

Both teams started out strongly in the opening few minutes of the match. Eduoard Mendy was called into action relatively early and then moments later Ziyech forced a save.

Chelsea were gifted the first opportunity of the match via penalty. However Jorginho squandered the chance. The ball bounced back off the post and Safonov collected it after a rebound effort from Werner.

Second Half

Hakim Ziyech

Krasnodar had quite a few chances in the starting of the second half as Gazinski hit the post from a corner. They were awarded a free kick at the edge of the box but the shot was straight into the wall. Frank Lampard made some crucial changes in the second half.

Moreover straight away the substitutions made an impact as Pulisic got a penalty for Chelsea. Timo Werner stepped up and smashed it into the net.

Minutes later Werner was once again into action as he passed the ball to Ziyech into the box. Hakim Ziyech calmly dribbled past two defenders and slotted the ball in the far post. Brilliant execution from Hakim Ziyech.

Christian Pulisic put the topping on the cake for Chelsea. Tammy Abraham dribbled past his mam easily and delivered the pass to Pulisic. He in turn collected the ball and squeezed it between the legs of Safonov.
