Gladbach will be very disappointed after having led by two goals through Thuram. Moreover, Madrid are in the last place in their Champions League group and will now need to get points against Inter Milan in a huge test of their credentials.
The first half was subdued with chances at premium for both sides. However, Gladbach got the opening from a break with Thuram scoring through a pass from Plea.
