UFC 262: Katlyn Chookagian defeats Viviane Araujo via unanimous decision

The women’s flyweight contest between Viviane Araujo (10-2) vs Katlyn Chookagian (15-4) just went down at UFC 262, this was one spectacular contest, and Katlyn Chookagian secured the victory via unanimous decision.

Round 1: Viviane Araujo pushed the pace and stays in front of Katlyn Chookagian and as she starts to lands combinations of her own, Katlyn moves well and times the front kick to the body, Araujo is landing nice crisp punches and Katlyn is working well with those front kicks, just as the round was ending Araujo moves in for a takedown and secures a clinch against the cage.

Round 2: Araujo moves in and lands some punches but Katlyn land a big front kick that dropped her opponent down, that front kick is money tonight. Katlyn is now using some well placed kicks but Araujo times a perfect takedown after slipping a kick, she goes for a guillotine and arm bar but Katlyn defends well and gets up to dominate on the feet for the rest of the round.

Round 3: Araujo is very tired, and she is swinging wild. Katlyn capitalized on this and now everything she is throwing was landing and her timing on the jab was perfect in this one, that jab is popping and it caused some damage to the eyes of Araujo. Katlyn lands a well-placed left-high kick, Araujo goes for a takedown but got stiffed and eats a big knee. Great round for Katlyn, and another great fight at UFC 262.
