Israel Adesanya wins at UFC 263
The title rematch between the middleweight king “The Last Style Bender” Israel Adesanya (20-1) and “The Italian Dream” Marvin Vettori (17-4-1) was the main event of UFC 263, there was a lot of bad blood between these two before this fight and the hype was real, the fight ended after five rounds and Adesanya secured the unanimous decision victory.
Round 1: Both Adesanya and Vettori got to the center of the octagon as soon as the fight started Izzy started blasting him with the leg kicks but Vettori took notice and caught the kick to secure a nice takedown, Izzy kept his composure and got back up after that he mixed things up pretty well and showed nice striking in the first round, great start to the main event of UFC 263.
Round 2: Izzy did a real good job fighting from the outside, he is letting Vettori come in and he is landing nice counter shots, he landed big head kicks, although Vettori blocked them but they still hurt, Vettori attempted a well-timed takedown but got stuff, Izzy did some more damage to the leg and stuffed another takedown to finish the round strong.
Round 3: Vettori secured the takedown just as the round started, he is trying to work his way into ground and pound, he almost got a rear-naked choke but somehow Izzy broke free, he then attempts a heel hook but Izzy got out from that as well, just as they were getting up Vettori got poked in the eye and fight halts for a moment.
Izzy’s work on that lead leg is now reflecting, he dropped Vettori with a leg kick but an accidental groin shot from Izzy halted the fight, but the round was almost over.
Round 4: Vettori is looking for a finish he got a takedown but Izzy secured the full guard and flipped Vettori over to be on the top, the round went similar to the others, Izzy worked his way from the outside and got enough points to win this one as well.
Israel Adesanya vs Marvin Vettori again goes to the decision at UFC 263 but this time Izzy is the clear winner!
Round 5: Vettori needed a finish to win this fight and he bet on his best shot, a takedown but couldn’t get it. Izzy blasted him with a head kick but Vettori seemed unfazed. Izzy kept his distance stuffed the takedowns and landed a final leg kick to finish the round strong.
Result: Israel Adesanya secured the unanimous decision victory over Marvin Vettori
