“In the real world, that fight’s a wrap,” Nate Diaz talks about nearly finishing Leon Edwards at UFC 263

Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards
‘The Stockton Slugger’ Nate Diaz electrified the arena with his presence at UFC 263 in the first-ever, five-round fight of UFC that was neither a title fight nor the main event.
Diaz faced the number 3rd ranked UFC Welterweight fighter, Leon Edwards on his return and at the end of five rounds ‘Rocky’ scored a unanimous decision win over Nate Diaz.
Edwards outstrike him throughout the fight and hurt Diaz really bad, but when the fight was about to end Nate Diaz rocked him with a left hand. He didn’t capitalize this shot and in the UFC 263 post-fight press conference, talking about it, Diaz says,
“The fight was a wrap, in a real fight, in the real world, that fight’s a wrap. He was sleepwalking.” Although, he also complimented Leon Edwards for winning the match and providing him a tough challenge for his comeback match.

Diaz says, “At the end of the day I feel like he won or whatever, but I feel like I’m the better fighter still, regardless, I feel like the peak of the fight is what matters in the fight anyway, what happened in the end.” {H/T MMA Fighting}
“No hating on Leon, congratulations to him and why would you fight anybody but the top guy if you’re going to fight at all. So I wish it would have went my way, but it’s all good.”
Nate Diaz says he feel unmotivated for this fight

The fight between Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards was originally scheduled for UFC 262 but ‘The Stockton Slugger’ faced a minor injury and this fight got pushed forward to UFC 263.
Now, he is eager to compete back inside the Octagon once again as soon as his cut against Edwards heal up. Diaz says, “I want to fight in three or four months, I’m ready to hop back in there, Just to heal up. If I was unscathed I’d be back in there next week.”
“I was just unmotivated to train anymore because I already put in all the hard work for the last fight in Texas where it was supposed to be and then I had to linger on for another f*cking month and it just sucked. Whatever, roll with the punches, do what I had to do to get here.” {H/T MMA Fighting}
With Nate Diaz back in the Octagon, many big names came up for his next fight such as Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal but Diaz is unsure whom he’ll be facing next.
Diaz added, “I don’t have nobody in mind, I’m gonna go back home and look at what’s poppin’ and who’s doing what and whoever wants to fight. If it makes sense and it’s a good idea for both parties, let’s dance.”
