‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor is no doubt one of the biggest draws in UFC right now. He has produced some of the biggest selling pay-per-views in the promotion’s history and McGregor is aiming to do that again.
Conor McGregor has headlined three of the highest selling PPV in UFC history and his last fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257, reportedly sold 1.6 million units. This just trails behind the biggest fight of McGregor’s UFC career against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Now, this trilogy fight against Poirier has a back story linked to it and the fans are really hyped to see who will be leaving the Octagon with a victory in this fight. That’s why Conor McGregor is confident he’ll set a new record of highest selling pay per views with this fight.
In his latest interview with Rolling Stone, McGregor says, “I’ll break records on the PPV, I know that’s the expectation. I’ve been in big fights before, and it’s always electric, and this one will probably be the biggest so far.”
“Having fans there this time is going to add even more to the atmosphere. So, I’m truly so excited, and I’m going to put on a show.” {h/t Rolling Stone}
Dana White is also excited about the magnitude of UFC 264 along with Conor McGregor
The UFC president Dana White is also very optimistic about Conor McGregor’s claim. UFC 264’s fight week hasn’t even hit its peak yet with the press conference and weigh-ins still remaining. Still White thinks this event is already going to be in the books of record.
White says, “Saturday night is going to be f*cking insane, Most celebrities ever at an event in the last 20 years, more pre-buys ever. All of you out there, if you know that you’re going to watch the fight on Saturday night, buy it now.”
“Don’t wait until Saturday when 3 million other people are trying to do it and you have a hard time getting it in. We have the most pre-buys ever right now and believe me, go to ESPN+ and do it now.”
