Irene Aldana is one of the most rapidly rising contenders in the UFC women’s Bantamweight division and she holds the record for second-highest takedown defense in UFC history. She made her UFC debut in December 2016 against Leslie Smith but she lost that fight.

After that, she scored wins against some of the big names in the promotion such as Bethe Correia, Vanessa Melo, and Ketlen Vieira. Following this win, she faced the former champion, Holly Holm in her last fight on UFC on ESPN: Holm vs Aldana.

Yana Kunitskaya is a former Invicta women’s Bantamweight champion and she made her promotional debut against Cris Cyborg at UFC 222 in the fight at which she fought for the UFC women’s featherweight championship.

Although, she lost this fight but after that she secured some big victories against Marion Reneau, Julija Stoliarenko and Ketlen Vieira.  Kunitskaya is on a two-fight winning streak coming into this fight with her latest win coming against Vieira on UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Lewis and with a win in this fight she’ll look forward to cement her position as the number one contender.
