Kamaru Usman shoves Colby Covington
A Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington press conference never disappoint and it sure did live up to its hype at the UFC 268 press conference ahead of their much anticipated welterweight title fight.
The tensions are already through the roof for this welterweight contest between the number one pound for pound champion Kamaru Usman and the welterweight superstar Colby Covington. The two fighters are set to headline the biggest pay-per-view event of the year so far at UFC 268. The fight takes place at the Madison Square Garden in New York City and the two rivals are ready to light that octagon up with some fireworks. Before we actually get to see the two fighters take each other’s heads off, the Nigerian Nightmare made sure to tease the fans with some action during the face-offs.
Things are certain to get ugly and personal when Colby is present on the stage. The entire trash talk in the press conference forced Usman to shove his opponent and scare the bejesus out of UFC President Dana White. The crowd was going crazy waiting for the two stars to face off and they did not disappoint. Usman and Colby got close and were fairly distant from each other before the champion asked “Chaos” to step forward only for him to get shoved in the chest. What lead to the shove from Kamaru Usman at UFC 268 press conference?
Things were surely going to get personal in this press conference as Covington walked into this rematch wanting to redeem his loss the first time he met the champion in 2019. Usman TKO’d Covington in the final round of the fight which the “Chaos” denies being knocked out and claimed for a bad decision from the referee. Covington walking into this press conference had his mind games going right off the bat and did not hesitate one bit to talk about the champion’s family.
Usman touched on the fact that he broke Colby’s jaw and Covington fired back with a personal insult about Usman’s father. Kamaru has previously admitted in the past that his father had problems with the law and had to spend time in jail. Though Usman didn’t mind the personal jab during the press conference, he sure did express his reactions in the face-offs as he shoved Colby.
This is not the first time Covington has said something that has led to controversy. The fighter has been accused of racial remarks in the past and “Chaos” is not something Colby Covington shies away from.
