UFC 269: Erin Blanchfield saves the day, successfully replaces Montana De La Rosa to fight Maycee Barber
Maycee Barber vs Erin Blanchfield
Erin Blanchfield has stepped up to fight Maycee Barber at UFC 269 after Montana De La Rosa was officially out of the fight due to her injury. This comes from an IG Live where Blanchfield announced her booking to MMA Junkie. It’s opportunistic for Blanchfield to step up and fight and make a name for herself as soon as possible as she only has one fight in the UFC. She’s currently on a 4 fight win streak and her only career loss comes from fellow flyweight Tracy Cortez.
Montana De La Rosa, the original opponent for Maycee Barber had to pull off sighting an injury that needed more time as per the UFC doctors, according to an Instagram post by De La Rosa. Barber was then immediately responding to the situation by calling out Roxanne Modafferi for a rematch, to whom Barber lost in the first fight. At only 22-years-old, Blanchfield has a strong future in front of her as she already owns 7 wins in her 8 professional bouts.
