Amanda Nunes parts ways with American Top Team finds a new gym
Amanda Nunes
Amanda Nunes has been reported to find a new gym and leave her former gym American Top Team, reports from combate suggests that the former two-division champ and the current UFC featherweight champion have found her own gym in Florida itself.
Amanda Nunes has been a face of the ATT and has represented the gym since 2014. She moved to train at ATT after her loss against Cat Zingano. Now it appears that the featherweight champion has come to terms with ATT. Nunes would still stay in Florida and will train at her own gym. This decision comes as surprise because of the success she had at the ATT gym.
Nunes has only lost one fight while at ATT and that was her last fight against Juliana Pena for the women’s bantamweight championship. Nunes has a very successful tenure at ATT, she won two championships with and defended both of these on multiple occasions.
Will this move affect the outcome Amanda Nunes in a rematch with Juliana Pena
Amanda Nunes is considered the greatest female fighter in MMA. She lost her bantamweight championship to Juliana Pena. Pena defeated her in a dominated performance. Nunes looked good in the first round but gassed out in the second.
Nunes is most likely to get the rematch with Pena. Moving gyms after just getting beat is generally something fighters are known to do but the way she lost didn’t look like a gym issue. She improved a mile at that gym and looked like a different fighter there. With the rematch on her hands, this move could be super tough on her schedule. Maintaining a gym is a stressful task and ahead of her rematch she needs to focus on the fight and these outside factors could give her a hard time inside the octagon and she has a tough matchup ahead of her.
