Amanda Nunes is not afraid to take on Julianna Pena
Amanda Nunes is a fearsome name in the UFC bantamweight women’s division. She is the undefeated champion and has earned two simultaneous titles. The last fight that Nunes lost was back at UFC 178, where Cat Zingano took out the Women’s MMA GOAT via TKO in the third round.
She has since then defeated the likes of Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, and Valentina Shevchenko. ‘The Queen’ is on a rampage and won’t stop. Amanda Nunes will take on Julianna Pena in the UFC 269 and it will be the co-main event of the night. Pena will challenge Nunes for the bantamweight title.
Nunes has faced multiple challenges over the years and Pena is considered the strongest contender for the belt. Pena too has an impressive record in the UFC. She is the first winner of The Ultimate Fighter. Peña faced Valentina Shevchenko at UFC on Fox 23 on January 28, 2017. She lost the fight via armbar submission in the second round.
“I have seen her flighting style,” Amanda Nunes says Julianna Pena will be easy to take on
In a recent press release, Nunes said, “Honestly, whatever Julianna has, I will not lose. Whenever I see her fighting style, I just have to be shocked because I have seen her flighting style many times before in my career.”
Talking about Julianna’s friend, UFC fighter Miesha Tate, Nunes said,” Her best friend is Miesha Tate. If you see Miesha Tate fight, it’s the same fire right there. So, I have seen it all before.” When asked about Julianna’s opinion about what her opponent said about her, she said, “I mean it’s fine. She said what she had to say, and it’s alright.”
