“Another big fight”- Dana White tips Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou as a clash with great potential

Dana White expects to make Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou possible in 2022. UFC just experienced major success with their first pay-per-view event of 2022, UFC 270. The event was super exciting and the fights were very entertaining. Every fighter showed impressive fighting spirit and the fans were also not behind in showing their support.

After such a massive buzz the expectations of the fight fans have increased sky-high. With various rumors about potential fights that have been surfacing it’s hard to tell what to trust. 

At UFC 270, Ngannou defeated Ciryl Gane and was successful in defending his Heavyweight title for the first time. After taking down, Gane, one of the best heavyweights in the division, Ngannou’s next fight has the potential to be humongous. On top of that, Jones has shared several pictures and training clips looking like a heavyweight. All these just adds up to the possibility of Jones vs Ngannou happening this year.

UFC President Mr. White recently did an interview with ESPN MMA. Where he discussed the success of UFC 270 and the fans can expect from the UFC in 2022. During the interview, host Laura Sanko asked White about what are the biggest fights that the fans are excited about in 2022.

While responding to the question White revealed that there are a few match-ups that the fans are highly anticipating. One of them is obviously the Heavyweight title fight between Jones and Ngannou. The UFC will try to make that happen in 2022 if everything goes well. “You know, in 2022 I think another big fight if it’s possible to get it done, would be Jon Jones vs Francis,” said White. 

Apart from the much-awaited heavyweight bout, White also explained that the lightweight title fight between Oliveira and Gaethje is also a huge match-up. “I think people are excited about Gaethje and Oliveira. A lot of people are excited about that. You saw the pop that Gaethje got on Saturday night,” said White.
