Irwin Rivera, UFC bantamweight fighter has been released from police custody.
UFC’s bantamweight fighter Irwin Rivera was recently released from the custody of the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. The fighter was arrested on the charges of attempted murder on January 6th. He was arrested for allegedly stabbing his sisters on a beach in Florida. The fighter confessed to the police saying that a higher power forced him to make those decisions.
However, his own family testified on his behalf which has aided in the release. ESPN Deportes was the first to report news about his release. Rivera is managed by the CEO of Dominance MMA, Ali Abdelaziz. Rivera has fought in the UFC three times previously. He has two losses against Giga Chikadze and Andre Ewell. His only win comes against Ali Alqaisi in 2020.
Gilbert Burns offers to help Irwin Rivera post release from custody
Following his release, Rivera’s teammates Gilbert Burns and Sean Soriano have offered to take care of the fighter. The fighter has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and an acute episode of psychosis when he attempted to stab his sisters. There are several conditions to the fighter’s release.
Though Irwin will be allowed to meet his family, he will have to meet with some living agreements, attend therapy, and also take the prescribed medications properly. The fighter will be allowed to travel but under several restrictions and supervision.
