Amanda Nunes and Claressa Shields
The two-times Olympic gold medalist boxer, Claressa Shields made her boxing debut against Brittney Elkins at PFL 3. Shields faced some problems early in her fight but eventually, she knocked out Elkins in the third round of their fight.
Claressa Shields had a history with Amanda Nunes as back in 2019, shields commented that Nunes will get a rude awakening if she ever stepped in the boxing ring against him.
After that Nunes responded to him by saying, she has no interest in boxing, but if Shields wants to fight come sees her in MMA. Now, Shields already made her MMA debut so the beef between both of them seems to be ignited again.
Nunes started the fire again by tweeting an embarrassing emoji just after Claressa Shields secured her first victory against Elkins. Although, Shields won the fight but her performance showed some clear areas of improvement.
After Claressa Shields got the wind of Amanda Nunes’s tweet in her latest interview she responded to her by saying, “If the big dog is looking at me, she’s in more trouble than she thinks, because I don’t know nothing right now.” {H/T MMA Sucka}
Claressa Shields again challenged Amanda Nunes to enter the boxing ring against her
Amanda Nunes is undoubtedly one of the biggest women MMA fighters in the world and Claressa Shields knows it very better that she still needs improvement to reach her level.
Although, the undefeated boxer is still ready to fight Nunes in a boxing match anytime. She added, “That was my first fight, from what I saw, I’m in pretty good standing, and I have a lot of potential and I’m willing to put in the hard work to be at that level. If she’s worried about me already, that’s bad on her part, not mine.” {H/T MMA Sucka}
“Nothing was embarrassing about my performance, a comeback like that. I’d like to see Amanda Nunes have a boxing match, she’d be embarrassed by a lot of girls. If anything she should give me a handclap. I’m not worried about what she thinks and feels.”
