It’s not surprising to see UFC fighters being a part of the fanbase for other sports. This is a lot evident in football. Where UFC fighters like Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov have been avid participants on social media when it comes to updating about their love for this game.

Recently, UFC megastar Conor McGregor did that again by showing his love to a football legend. McGregor was last seen in action at UFC 264 when he lost his trilogy fight to UFC lightweight Dustin Poirier. Since then, McGregor has been in the recovery phase due to the fracture he had from the fight. The surgery went successful and since then, he has shown a remarkable improvement in his recovery. As of now, he doesn’t plan to come back to action soon but is hoping to be a part of a wheelchair boxing match for a charity.

Regardless, after he left the position, Ole was paid tributes by many recognisable faces around the world, including Conor McGregor. McGregor wrote in his tweet “I want to give a major shout out, and a huge thank you to the living legend that is Ole Gunnar Solskjær! Ole you are forever, Sir! Icon! Inspiration! Hero! Legend! Thank you Ole @ManUtd

Followed by this, McGregor came out with some photos of Ole in another tweet and captioned “This is what “Forever Legend” looks like! @ManUtd#RedArmyHero#Passion#Winner#TheOneTheOnly#OleGunnar

What do you make of McGregor’s gesture for Ole? When do you see the “The Notorious” one coming back to Octagon and who do you want him to go against when he returns? McGregor wants a fight with Poirier but not sure if the UFC wants the fourth fight to happen between these two fighters. Other than that, there have been various names calling out McGregor including Michael Chandler and Khamzat Chimaev.
