“He’s more afraid of getting embarrassed by a YouTuber” – Dan Hardy lashes into Tyron Woodley following the latter’s loss to Jake Paul
Dan Hardy on Tyron Woodley vs Jake Paul
Dan Hardy ripped into Tyron Woodley following the latter’s recent loss to YouTuber Jake Paul. Tyron Woodley took on Jake Paul on the 29th of August at the Rocket Mortgage Field House in an eight-round professional boxing match. Woodley ended up losing the fight to the ‘Problem Child’ via. a narrow split decision.
There were moments in the fight where the former welterweight champion looked like he could have finished Paul, but failed to do so. Especially in the fourth round, Tyron Woodley caught Paul with a huge strike that sent Paul careening to the ropes. Although, Paul hung on, a barrage of proper strikes from T-Wood would have got the job done.
In a recent interview with Submission Radio, former UFC fighter Dan Hardy and current analyst gave his opinion on Woodley vs Paul. He tore into Woodley for putting on a mundane performance before going on to say that he expected the former champ to do that.
“I think Tyron Woodley was being himself” – Dan Hardy
Hardy was quoted as saying, “I think Tyron Woodley was being himself, how many fights have the fans been booing in the third, fourth and fifth round. He hangs back, he waits, because he’s got 10 punches in his pocket and if he throws anymore than that, he’s blowing out of his ar*e. Like, That’s the reality of it, he was always gonna be gun shy because he’s more afraid of getting tired and getting embarrassed by a YouTuber. That was exactly what I expected to happen, and the reason I’m annoyed about it is because he validates exactly what I thought was gonna happen, and I expected more from him.”
Woodley is expected to run his fight back against Paul. A rematch was comically agreed in the post-fight interview after the Paul brothers insisted Woodley ink an ‘I Love Jake Paul’ tattoo, so that they could oblige to a rematch. Woodley did seem to agree to the offer.
There are also talks of Paul taking on Tommy Fury next. Fury, particularly has been calling out Paul, claiming that he would finish the YouTuber in under 3 minutes.
