The former UFC Light Heavyweight champion, Jon Jones isn’t getting on the same page with Dana White, since he vacated his title and started formulating plans for his Heavyweight return.

As soon as, Francis Ngannou grabbed the Heavyweight title, Jones called him out publically and since then he is negotiating with UFC for the right paycheck to face Ngannou. But nearly after every interaction, Jon Jones seems to get him farther from getting this deal done.

Recently Jonny Bones announced a new element in this mix that can finally get things moving forward for him. Through his Twitter post, Jones announced that he joined hands with Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Richard Schaefer.

Jones says, “I am excited to embark on this next chapter of my career as I continue to cement my place in history as one of the greats with Richard as my advisor, I can’t wait to give my fans and the sport the fights they want to see.” {H/T MMA Mania}

The next big question is whether Schaefer will be able to negotiate with Dana White. Fortunately, in his recent interview with Brett Okamoto, White says he is ready to sit down and talk with him.

White says, “I like Richard, I’ve known Richard for a long time and obviously, he built Golden Boy, He built that company. He knows what he’s doing, he’s a smart guy. I like and respect him and if we can get something done we will.”

Dana White and Richard Schaefer hate one of the most prominent boxing personalities, Oscar De La Hoya and who knows this hate will bring them more closely and Schafer will be able to negotiate the best deal for Jon Jones.

In his interview with Yahoo Sports, Schaefer says, “The UFC, being a publicly-traded company now, they want to put together the biggest fights, they’re not going to make any money if Jon Jones is sitting around.”

“They want to find a way to structure a deal and the same is true of Jon. He wants to fight. Jon is the kind of guy, and I like that, he’ll fight anyone. He likes to challenge himself.” {H/T MMA Mania}

Richard Schaefer concluded, “On top of that, I’ve always had a good relationship with Dana. You know that. We sort of like the same people in boxing and we hate the same people in boxing.”

“Besides that, we’ve always respected each other. It’s just a matter of sitting down with Dana, which I will do, and find a way to structure a deal which nobody will be happy with but everybody can live with.” {H/T MMA Mania}
