Dana White believes that Jon Jones new advisor Richard Schaefer ‘can make things happen’

UFC President Dana White and the pound for pound fighter Jon Jones have not been in the best of terms lately. The superstar’s return is still not a guarantee given their dispute. Jon Jones now has a new advisor in the name of Richard Schaefer.
Richard is the ex-Golden Boy CEO and will have a new relationship with Jones, who will be helping out the fighter to manage his fighting career and decisions. Schaefer is a big name in the boxing business having worked with fighters such as Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather, and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. This will be Schaefer’s first shot at managing an MMA fighter. Dana has had a decent relationship with Richard and we reckon this might spark a return of Jones to the heavyweight division.
White, talking to Yahoo Sports, said that though the title fight between Francis Ngannou and Derrick Lewis is done, he wouldn’t mind a comeback of Jon. “I like Richard Schaefer,” White told Yahoo Sports. “I respect the guy, known him for a long time. He’s a real guy. He’s a guy that gets deals done so we will see.” Richard Schaefer might be the guy that helps put Jones back in the octagon.
If Jon Jones retired today, Dana White wouldn’t be surprised
“Listen, this is the way I look at Jon Jones — if he shows up, that’s awesome. If he doesn’t show up, he’s had a great run, he can go out on top and it’s not a bad thing either,” Dana said in his thoughts about Jon’s return. “I get excited when I know Jon is really coming in and he’s going to fight so I kind of set myself up for if he doesn’t, he doesn’t.
“Jon Jones could go out on top if he called tomorrow and said ‘I retire,’ I wouldn’t be shocked. I wouldn’t be devastated. I’d say good for him. If Jones calls tomorrow and says I want to fight tomorrow, ‘I want Stipe [Miocic],’ let’s make it, and let’s get it going,” Dana is very clear on his interest in Jones. There doesn’t look like there will be a negotiation about his pay.
