Dana White on Conor McGregor

Of all the criticism UFC superstar Conor McGregor has been receiving off-late, one of them has been that the Irishman has gotten too comfortable. Dana White shares his thoughts on the UFC star’s hunger to succeed in fighting.

Conor McGregor has unfortunately been on the receiving end of a lot of defeats inside the octagon in the past few years. Many MMA fans consider the Irishman’s time inside the octagon as a downfall despite McGregor being successful outside the octagon. Conor is one of the biggest stars in the world and definitely the biggest MMA fighter.

The man is a PPV machine and guarantees a sell-out every time he steps into the octagon. However, in his last four fights inside the octagon over the last three years, McGregor has failed to win over more than one fight. His only win comes against the veteran Donald Cerrone in 2020. UFC President Dana White has some interesting answers to what has affected Conor’s performance inside the octagon.

“The thing that I say about him and I’ve always been saying about him is that he has plenty of money but he is still super passionate about fighting. Fired up to comeback. Doing everything he needs to do to get ready to perform again,” said Dana on Conor’s hard work to come back into the octagon after the terrible injury at UFC 264.

Conor has done it all in the UFC. The man has competed in three different weight classes and has been the champion in two of them. McGregor was the first fighter to become a two-division champion in the UFC. McGregor also rules the Top 10 PPV list. One cannot blame the Irishman for not showing the same drive or hunger for getting bloody inside the octagon.

“Once you start to become a little too comfortable and a little too cozy, this is a rough business to be in, to get cozy in. Listen Conor, we all know he’s talented enough. What tweaks does he need to make in the training and what he is got going on to come back to be on top again? I don’t know that remains to be seen,” said White talking to Brett Okamoto of ESPN.

The UFC President also revealed that if “The Notorious One” heals according to plan, then we might get to see him in the octagon this coming summer. Who do you think Conor’s opponent could be on his return?
