Dana White Explains Why Khabib Nurmagomedov CANNOT Be Considered the UFC’s GOAT
Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dana White
The former UFC Lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov retired with his win against Justin Gaethje at the main event of UFC 254. ‘The Eagle’ ended his MMA career with a record of 29-0 with victories over some of the biggest names in the promotion such as Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, and others.
The UFC president Dana White tried his best to stop Khabib Nurmagomedov from retiring but after the demise of his father, ‘The Eagle’ decided to never step inside the Octagon once again.
Khabib is considered as one of the greatest fighters in UFC history by many fellow fighters but according to Dana White, the former hasn’t spent enough time in the ring to be called as greatest.
Talking about the same in his latest interview with Teddy Atlas, Dana White says, “It’s so hard. Right now, I think Kamaru Usman is the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world, what he’s accomplished in the past few years is amazing.”
“I think Khabib Nurmagomedov probably could be called the greatest ever, who knows if he’d stuck around longer. It was unfortunate, the passing of his father.”
Dana White added, “You know, he’s just gotten to a point in his life where you know how that goes too when you’ve got so much money it changes everything. The fight business is a tough business to get up and go to every day when you’ve got that kind of money.”
Dana White once again warns Khabib Nurmagomedov for being a promoter of Eagle FC
The former UFC Lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov has started his own promotion, namely Eagle FC and he is already planning a fight card that is most probably going to be headlined by the fight between Kevin Lee and Diego Sanchez.
White has already warned Khabib earlier regarding being on the other side and he doubles down his claim by saying, “Khabib just started his own promotion and I said, ‘Listen, Khabib has no idea but he’s gonna know. You’re going to learn what it’s like to be a promoter,'”
“Then [Oscar] De La Hoya comes out and says, ‘Khabib, it’s easy.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, it’s easy, you don’t f***ing do anything. You lost every fight that you ever f****** had and you literally do nothing. Of course, it’s easy, you don’t do anything.”
