“Stuff that goes through my head after I win”- Derrick Lewis on jokingly chucking his groin guard into the stands

Derrick Lewis defeats Chris Daukaus in the Heavyweight division at UFC fight night
Derrick Lewis is on the top of the world after defeating Chris Daukaus at the main event of UFC Vegas 45. He was hell-bent on taking vengeance for his loss against Ciryl Gane in his hometown Houston. The loss left him red-faced and scared of fighting a five-round match again.
The fight against Daukaus was some kind of redemption for Derrick Lewis. He started the match with full-on gas mode and kept the pressure on Daukaus consistent. He was asked whether he thought that there was anything he could change about himself.
He said that he wanted to cut down on his weight and stop taking so much pressure upon himself. He admitted that he took the loss to Ciryl Gane to heart and was under immense pressure for the Derrick Lewis vs Chris Daukaus main event at UFC Vegas 45.
But after securing the victory, ‘The Black Beast’ came up with one of the most innovative celebrations ever. Derrick Lewis took out his cup from the shorts and threw it into the audience and surprisingly enough one man came towards it running and he even picked it.
What was going on in Derrick Lewis’ mind while doing the controversial wild celebrations

In a talk show, Derrick Lewis was questioned by the host about the reason behind his wild celebration. Lewis said, “There was a dude in the stands who pushed a woman out of the way to grab the cup. No, I don’t know, I don’t know, the stuff that goes through my head after I win I couldn’t tell you, man, I don’t know.”
“I still don’t know why I did that. It was a nice cup, a diamond cup.” Lewis said jokingly, having a good laugh with the hosts.
The person in the crowd grabbed the cup to maybe use it to do a shoie or something of that sort. Maybe he wanted to keep the cup as memorabilia. Why Lewis threw the cup and why did the man in the audience grab it, it will remain a mystery.
