“Don’t p***y out now”- Jorge Masvidal hints at potential fight against Colby Covington, warns ‘Chaos’ against backing down

Jorge Masvidal calls out Colby Covington for not accepting the contract

Jorge Masvidal clowns former teammate Colby Covington for not signing the dot for their grudge match in the octagon.

Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington go way back. The two have turned from friends to foes and their story is currently the biggest rivalry in the UFC. The two fighters are title contenders and PPV stars in their own right. Masvidal was originally scheduled to fight top-ranked Leon Edwards at UFC 269 in the final PPV event of 2021. However, an unfortunate injury caused the “Gamebred” to pull out of the fight.

Colby on the other hand headlined UFC 268 matching up against his bitter rival Kamaru Usman in an exciting rematch. Both Jorge and Colby are coming off losses and the only fight to make for both of them is the long-due grudge match. The two were former teammates. The two were rumored to fight each other after being paired as opposing coaches in the next Ultimate Fighter. In a recent tweet, Masvidal called out his former friend to sign the contract.

In his tweet, Masvidal wrote, “They gonna call you and hopefully the 4th time is a charm you f**king coward. Don’t p**sy out now.” This is not the first time both the fighters have expressed their interest to settle their beef inside the octagon. However, Masvidal’s tweet suggests that Colby is hesitant about signing the contract.

Colby has previously said that he was all in for the idea of being a coach in The Ultimate Fighter. “Yeah you know I’d love to make the Ultimate Fighter happen. That is the biggest grudge match the UFC’s ever had. It is just too personal, you know. We were too close, the angle is just too good and too juicy,” Colby said in a past interview with The Schmo.

Masvidal has a record of 35-15-0 in his professional career and “Chaos” has vowed to retire his former teammate when they two fight each other. Meanwhile, Covington is 16-3-0 in his professional career and widely regarded as the second-best fighter in the UFC welterweight division. Do you think we will see a Covington vs Masvidal fight in 2022?
