Francis Ngannou opens as favorite in the rematch against Derrick Lewis

Francis Ngannou opens as favorite in the rematch against Derrick Lewis

There is no doubt that the heavyweight division is the most appealing and interesting of all the weight classes in the UFC. After Francis Ngannou handed Stipe Miocic his defeat at UFC 260, the doors have opened for several possibilities. Not to forget that former light heavyweight champion and superstar Jon Jones has made a move up a weight class.

Though Francis Ngannou is the most feared man on earth, he has a loss to Derrick Lewis on his resume. The Cameroon fighter has already expressed his interest in a rematch against ‘The Black Beast’. Right now Derrick is considered as the healthy favorite in a possible rematch.

Meanwhile, Lewis is coming off an unreal knockout against Curtis Blaydes at UFC Vegas 19. Derrick Lewis knocked Blaydes out in the second round of the fight that saw Curtis in a very bad state. Derrick is 25-7-0 in his career with one no contest.

Why Jon Jones vs. Francis Ngannou won’t happen?

Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou

Jon Jones was originally supposed to make his return into the octagon by fighting the winner of Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou. Jon Jones also said that he wasn’t scared of Ngannou and he is ready to take him on. The problem started when Jones demanded a more money than what Dana White was willing to pay.

Jones also put out a tweet saying, “Show me the money” where he asked the promotion to pay the price he is worth. But looks like the UFC are just not in it. Reports have suggested that UFC are working on the Francis Ngannou vs. Derrick Lewis fight.

Jon Jones is very clear about UFC underpaying him and will only fight if the superstar gets paid the big bucks. Who would you prefer to watch? A Francis Ngannou vs. Derrick Lewis rematch or Jones fighting Ngannou?
