The featherweight bout between Brain “T-city” Ortega and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung will serve as the main event of UFC Fight Island 6 on October 17.

The duo was previously scheduled to main event UFC Fight Night: Frankie Edgar vs The Korean Zombie in December 2019. However, Ortega pulled out of the fight with a knee injury. He was replaced by former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar.

Brian Ortega returns back to the Octagon after suffering his first defeat at UFC 231. Ortega was defeated by the hands of former featherweight champion Max Holloway. Ortega(14-1) rebuild his team after loss to Holloway with only one person from the former team making it to the new team. That man is Rener Gracie.

With wins over high-profile fighters like Frankie Edgar, Cub Swanson and Clay Guida. Ortega will be looking to bounce back to the win column after two years of rest. And recovering from his injuries. Not only that, it will crucial to see what changes the fighter will have in addition after the renewal of his team.

The Korean Zombie

“The Korean Zombie” decided to be a part of the main event in Busan, South Korea. Instead of facing Ortega, he faced former Lightweight Champion and future Hall Of Famer Frankie Edgar in the featherweight division. Jung demolished Edgar with a series of powerful punches to take his win streak to three.

Now 3-1 with a trio of first-round finishes since returning from his mandatory military service obligations, the 33-year-old veteran will be looking forward to settle the score against Ortega finally after the cancellation of their fight last year in December.

Ever since December 2019, a lot has changed between the two. With some heated moments going on between the two, the fight has already become a “must-watch”. Not only that, this fight will also serve as a number 1 contender fight for the featherweight division.
