The spotlight is on wrestler Gable Steveson. The man from Minnesota was just too good at the recently concluded 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He won the Gold medal in the men’s freestyle 125kg category. Except for the finals, Steveson just coasted past every opponent. In fact, he blanked each and every one of them, before pulling off a last-second heist in the finals to win the Gold medal.

Following his performances at the Olympics, Gable Steveson has been linked to promotions like the WWE and UFC. And more recently, he had an exchange with UFC’s light-heavyweight GOAT Jon Jones, on Instagram. Jones even offered to train alongside him, in case he dropped by at Albuquerque.

“I want to come down and roll” – Gable Steveson

Jones’ Instagram comment read, “‘We are what we repeatedly do excellence then is not an act but a habit.’ Find your passion and go after it with all you got.”

Steveson replied that he would do as Jones told.

Jones continued, “If youre serious about MMA, hope you decide to train here in Albuquerque.”

Steveson replied, “Message me. I want to come down and roll.”

Daniel Cormier says Gable Steveson should take the Brock Lesnar approach

Jon Jones’ former rival Daniel Cormier addressed the Gable Steveson scenario in the latest episode of DC&RC. The former heavyweight champion stated that Steveson should follow the path followed by former UFC great Brock Lesnar. DC said that Steveson should make a name for himself in the WWE and then join the UFC with a massive fanbase, that would do his PPV money a world of good.

Cormier said, “If I’m Gable Steveson, I’m going to the WWE first. I’m taking the Brock Lesnar approach. I’m going there, I’m building my name because the WWE wants him just as much as the UFC. I am going to the WWE first. I’m getting built into a monster over there and then I’m coming to the UFC, where immediately I’m at the top of the cards. And immediately I’m getting PPV money. Immediately I’m the man and I bring that fanbase with me. It’s right out there for Gable.”
