Khabib Nurmagomedov turned down a fight against Georges St-Pierre
Khabib Nurmagomedov announced his retirement in October 2020 after beating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. Saying that he had promised his mother that he would never step inside the Octagon without his late father by the ringside, Khabib bid goodbye to the sport.
However, there were rumours afloat that the Dagestani would make a comeback for a one-off fight against St-Pierre. But, Khabib put an end to all these after officially confirming his retirement in March 2021, before also going on to reveal that he had turned down an offer to fight GSP.
Khabib is currently busy promoting Eagle Fighting Championship – the promotion he bought in late 2020. He has also been coaching his fellow Russian fighters across various MMA promotions – notable among them are Islam Makhachev, his cousins Usman and Umar Nurmagomedov.
