The former UFC Featherweight champion, Max Holloway was booked to face the number 3rd ranked Featherweight fighter, Yair Rodriguez in the July 17th UFC Main Event. But Holloway pulled out from this fight due to a minor injury.

Rodriguez was making his return for this fight almost after 18 months with his last win coming against Jeremy Stephens on UFC Fight Night: Reyes vs Weidman. Now, with Holloway out from this fight, the number 10th ranked UFC Featherweight fighter, Giga Chikadze is ready to step in to face Yair Rodriguez.

Right after the news of Holloway pulling out came out, Chikadze called out Rodriguez with his tweet which says, “Yes! I do need a big name and this is an opportunity! Yair Rodriguez I know you’ve been asked, let’s do some #NINJASHOW for the fans, Mortal Kombat!”

Chikadze is on a six-fight win streak and after his latest win against former title challenger, Cub Swanson he has been constantly asking to get a crack at the top contenders of the division.

After calling out Rodriguez with his tweet, Giga Chikadze claims that UFC offered him to replaced Max Holloway and he already signed the contract, they are now waiting for Yair to pick this fight. In a video attached with his tweet, Chikadze says,

“Max Holloway pulled out from the fight against Yair Rodriguez due to injury. The Ufc called me to replace him. Of course, I agreed to and now we’re waiting for Yair. This guy didn’t fight for 20 or 21 months and I guess what I was doing this time, I was fighting and fighting. I fought 6 times and beat all my opponents.”

He added, “This guy started to play few games and I haven’t heard of him since then. Hopefully, he shows up on 17th July. But I heard he is a little bit of pus*y, He didn’t show up four times against Zabit and I heard he did everything to pull out from this fight.”

“I don’t think the guy who is scared deserves to be in UFC. But hopefully, I’ll meet his face to face and we’re going to talk.” Now, it would be really interesting to see will Rodriguez step into this fight or not.
