Glover Teixeira says Alex Pereira is ‘three fights’ away from fighting Israel Adesanya again

New UFC debutant Alex Pereira’s new upcoming future brawl with Israel Adesanya is inevitable. The kickboxing star won “THE PERFORMANCE OF NIGHT” in his UFC first match on the previous fight knocking out Andreas Michailidis with a flying knee at the UFC 268 in Madison Square Garden fully packed. The debutant got eyes on his due to two reasons:- 1. Due to his kickboxing background and the extensive KO comeback in front of the middle east UFC champion Israel Adesanya.

Glover Teixeria, the former lightweight UFC champion and a co-trainee of Alex Pereira believe the trilogy match between Adesanya and Pereira is inevitable. Talking to Ariel Helwani from The MMA Hour, he said, “I told, ‘One year. I told him when he signed with the UFC, ‘Hey man, they’ll be talking about you in about one year, three fights.’ Especially the way he fought. It couldn’t go better.”

Pereira’s experience level pales in comparison to Texeira’s (his UFC debut was his fourth pro-MMA bout, while Teixeira is closing in on the 20th anniversary of his pro-MMA debut), but Teixeira thinks “Poatan” has great instincts when it comes to picking up new techniques. He added, “I couldn’t be happier as a coach as a training partner that’s been telling people that this guy is no joke. He’s got a lot to learn, but he’s learning things quickly.”

Glover Teixeira sees many similarities between him and Alex, he believes he is one of a kind talent, “He got taken down, he defended takedowns, he got up and he stayed there. You see the other guy come out of the clinch, the guy’s face was all messed up, he was dead tired and he come out with the flying knee. So calm, so relaxed.”

Glover is very confident that Alex will face Adesanya sooner or later, and if everything goes right, he will face Izzy in under a year, he said, “I say three more fights the most, and he wants to fight quick. He wants February already, he wants to fight quick, so he’s going to fight back to back probably. No injuries, no nothing. By this time next year, they’ll be talking about him and Adesanya.”
