Justin Gaethje is one of the most brutal fighters on the UFC roster and likes to deal with blood inside the octagon. The American is very durable and keeps the fight on his feet and lets his hands do the talking.
Gaethje has fought 28 professional MMA bouts and has won 24 of them. Gaethje has powerful striking and this has helped him to get 19 knockout finishes in his career. Some of the biggest names the fighter has finished via KO in his career are Tony Ferguson, Donald Cerrone, Edson Barboza, Michael Johnson, etc.
Justin Gaethje is a fan favorite for always giving entertaining fights and his fight with Tony Ferguson was one of them. Other than knockouts, Gaethje has four decision victories and they were equally entertaining as well. In UFC, Gaethje’s first decision victory was against Michael Chandler at UFC 268 and it was an absolute war. Both fighters gave everything inside the octagon in order to win the fight. After rounds, Gaethje came out as the winner. Gaethje’s second decision victory in UFC came when he fought Rafael Fiziev at UFC 286. It was the Fight of the Night and Fiziev showed great heart throughout the five rounds but it wasn’t enough.

Justin Gaethje has only one submission win
Gaethje has established himself as one of the best strikers in UFC but surprising to know that he started his journey as a wrestler. Gaethje is a two-time Arizona state champion and an NCAA Division I All-American during his college time.
However, the fighter barely uses his wrestling in his fights. Gaethje’s only submission victory was outside of UFC when he fought in Rage in the Cage. In 2012, he defeated his opponent Sam Young via a rear naked choke to win his fifth consecutive fight.
However, the fighter has lost twice via submission in his career and two of them were in title fights. The first one was against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 254 in Abu Dhabi. Nurmagomedov finished Gaethje in the second round via triangle choke before announcing his retirement. Similarly, Gaethje also lost to Charles Oliveira in his second title opportunity and this time it was a rear-naked choke.
