Jake Shields on Nate Diaz and Jake Paul possible fight
Nate Diaz is one of the most feared names in the UFC. But there has supposedly been some bad blood between the legendary fighter and the UFC president, Dana White.
Diaz has just one match left before his contract expires with the UFC. There have been speculations of what he will be doing after this happens. Many think that he will be getting involved in boxing, which raises the obvious question, will he accept the Jake Paul challenge?
According to Jake Shields, current PFL welterweight division fighter, Nate Diaz has no interest in facing off against Jake Paul. He says that there is one fighter that Diaz hopes to fight before his contract expires.
In a recently released interview with Helen Yee Sports, Jake Shields revealed the reason why Nate Diaz won’t fight Jake Paul. He said, “I don’t know. I mean, Nate likes money, so you never know, but I think he feels like Jake Paul is not on his level. So it’s kind of a joke to be calling him out. I’m sure there’s a payday that might get him interested. But as far as him looking to fight Paul, that’s kind of a joke. He’s looking to fight top 5 fighters.”

Jake Shields said that Diaz wants to fight one of the Top 5 fighters in the UFC before leaving. It would be excellent if he got to fight Conor McGregor’s nemesis, Dustin Poirier.
“I know Nate wants that fight. As I said, he wants a top-five opponent, but the UFC doesn’t want to give him a top-five opponent. They’re trying to give him guys that don’t name because they don’t want him to leave the UFC with a huge win like that. Hopefully, they will come to some terms. The fans want it, Nate wants it, Poirier wants it, I mean I want it. I think everyone wants to see that fight.”
