It looks like Jon Jones and the UFC President Dana White have finally come to an agreement. The greatest light heavyweight of all time has given his fans a ballpark figure of when he might return to the octagon.
We haven’t heard from Jon Jones for a long time about his heavyweight return. From a full-on beef between the former light heavyweight champion and the UFC President Dana White to absolute silence, made us all wonder if Jon might ever return to the octagon. White had previously revealed that he will not think about Jones until 2022.
Jones attended the Hall-of-Fame ceremony to receive the induction of his 2013 fight at UFC 165 with Alexnder Gustafsson. Jon was gracious enough to spare time for the media and gave an update about his situation with the UFC. According to “Bones”, he is likely to fight in the second quarter of 2022.
Jon Jones talks about his pay increase for his next fight
“Dana, he guaranteed me that he would give me an increase in my next fight. So I’m really excited about that. I think it’s going to be pay-per-view based, so I’m gonna have to work for the money that I get, and I would have to sell the fight,” Jones said.
“I think that’s something I haven’t been good at in the past. You look at guys like McGregor who just talks so much shit and he’s so good at it. And so good at marketing himself. I have always just focused on winning. And I think when I come back as a heavyweight I’ll try to do more legally controversial shit so I can maybe sell a little more pay-per-views.”
