Jose Aldo shuts down the possibility of a match against Dominick Cruz, says TJ Dillashaw is the main focus

Jose Aldo and TJ Dillashaw
Aldo gave an impressive performance against Pedro Munhoz in his last fight, and fans lost their mind over this as they got a taste of vintage Aldo back. Now that he is on a two-fight winning streak, Jose is looking to fight someone who can get him to the belt as quickly as possible.
People speculated a match between Aldo and former champion Dominick Cruz would be amazing, but Jose isn’t interested in this one. TJ Dillashaw recently returned and defeated Cory Sandhagen in a title eliminator bout, and Aldo is more than willing to fight Dillashaw.
In a recent interview, Aldo talked about this and said, “I want to climb step-by-step. I may have bitten off more than I could chew but it happens, you aim big and hit big. But it’s different now, we’re going step-by-step, adapting to the division. After this great fight, I want to put on another great performance by December.”
“Dillashaw is the focus,” he continued. “If it’s early next year, I can wait too. I’ll leave that up to ‘Dede’ to deal with. I want to fight by December or January, tops. With another great fight and win, we can get closer to the belt.”
“I want to win and leave no doubt,” Jose Aldo wants to go down in the history books as one of the best fighters to ever walk this planet

Aldo claims he wants to earn his title shot the right way, he doesn’t want the UFC to grant him a title shot just because he was the featherweight champion, he stated, “I want to win and leave no doubt that it’s not due to my name or the fact that I’m the greatest featherweight champion, I’ll earn it through my merits and achievements and the wins I’ll get. I know I’ll be the next challenger when I win my next fight regardless.”
“Whoever that is, Sterling or Petr, there’s no problem,” Aldo said. “Either one of them being the champion today still won’t be bigger than me. Everybody sees a win for Petr in the next fight, but him losing to me and Dillashaw.”
